LIMITED EDITION, number 88 of 375 copies, SIGNED BY TADAAKI KUWAYAMA AND TRANSLATOR EDWARD SEIDENSTICKER. Snow Country was described by translator Edward Seidensticker as "Kuwayama's masterpiece," further elaborating that the prose structure is reminiscent of the haiku poem for its use of brief scenes to tell larger stories. It is today considered a classic of Japanese literature and was cited by the Nobel Committee when they awarded Kumayama the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1968.
